MED-AGE
The interdisciplinary MED-AGE PhD programme comprises four projects focused on the use and access to medicines by older people and reflects the challenges faced by this population such as the use of polypharmacy (multiple medicines), prescribing of potentially inappropriate medications, their susceptibility to adverse effects and difficulties with medication management. The research conducted during this PhD programme seeks to contribute to a delay in or reduce future health and social care requirements and improve older people’s quality of life.
The research is funded under the ’s Multiple PhD Studentship scheme and the Northern Ireland Department for the Economy. Further information about the award is available .
