Widening Participation
The School actively participates in the University's widening participation initiatives, working to ensure that chemistry and chemical engineering are accessible to students from all backgrounds.
The QUB Pathway Opportunity Programme is the University's flagship widening participation scheme, providing a supported route into higher education for talented young people who may face additional barriers to accessing university. Students in Year 13 take part in subject-specific activities and a residential summer school, and on completion receive a reduced conditional offer and a bursary for each year of their studies at Queen's.
The School welcomes Pathway students into chemistry and chemical engineering programmes and is proud to have supported a number of students into the School through this route.
